Johnstown’s housing skews newer, with most homes built in the 2000s and a high share owned by the people living in them. That combination tends to mean cabinets that are structurally solid but ready for a style refresh rather than a teardown.
A lot of Johnstown kitchens share a similar builder-grade starting point: sound boxes, standard doors, a finish that hasn’t aged badly so much as gone out of style. Refacing or resurfacing both work well on stock like this.
We’re based on East Harmony Road in Fort Collins, with Johnstown a regular stop on our route.
Where we work in and around Johnstown
Cabinet Resurfacing keeps your current doors and style, refreshing the color and finish with a sprayed, factory-grade process. Cabinet Refacing swaps in new custom doors and drawer fronts on your existing boxes, well suited to Johnstown’s newer builder-grade kitchens.
Cabinet resurfacing updates the color and finish of your existing cabinets while keeping their current style.
Using premium contractor-grade products and proven techniques, we restore and refresh your cabinetry for a durable, long-lasting finish.
This process also includes repairing minor damage caused by years of use, giving your cabinets a renewed look without the high cost of replacement.
Cabinet refacing replaces your cabinet doors and drawer fronts with new, custom-made designs while maintaining your existing cabinet boxes.
This allows you to completely transform the look and feel of your kitchen, without changing the footprint.
With contractor-grade materials and a factory-quality finish, refacing gives you the beauty of brand-new cabinetry at a fraction of the cost of a full remodel.
Expect around $9,000 for a typical project, against roughly $4,500 for a painter and $35,000 for full replacement.
A painted finish needs redoing every four to five years, putting the fifteen-year cost near $13,500 and still falling short of a sprayed finish’s lifespan. Ours is warrantied for ten years and usually holds up for fifteen or more.
The in-home quote is free, no obligation attached.

From start to finish, this was one of the best experiences we have had with a home project. The entire team was kind, professional, and so attentive to detail. Our kitchen now looks completely brand new, we honestly cannot believe the transformation! They went above and beyond, especially with the top of the cabinets, and the final result looks like it was always part of the original build.

A job well done! The finish is beautiful. The staff prepared me well for what to expect during the week that they worked. Jim the co-owner supervised the project and handled the finishing touches. Great attention to detail. Jen, the other co-owner, comes to the house to help with colors and other decisions and gives the final price which we felt was very fair.

Summit Cabinet Coatings is excellent at what they do, and we love the end result of our refacing project. They take care in their work, and were great at communicating with us, making sure we knew all of the steps in the project, that we understood the schedule, and that we had what we needed in making any design decisions.
